Tracy Mae Sandford, born on August 1, 1930, in Livingston, Texas, passed away on June 25, 2025, in Lufkin, Texas. She will be remembered for her warm and friendly disposition, which endeared her to family and friends alike. Tracy dedicated several years of her career to working at the Corrigan Camden Independent School District, touching the lives of many she encountered there.
Tracy cherished time spent with her loved ones, particularly during long trips with her sisters and sister-in-law. These joyful adventures highlighted her loving nature and strong familial bonds. Her home was always filled with warmth as she embraced gatherings with family and friends, creating memories that will be treasured forever.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, VL Sanford, as well as her daughter, Carol Herslow, and her sons, Robbie Sanford, Charles Sanford, and Vernon Sanford. Tracy is survived by her son, Raymond Sanford, along with his wife Norma Glenn Sanford and Lisa Sanford. She is equally cherished by her daughters-in-law Christina Sanford, Linda Sanford, and Lorenda Sanford, and her son-in-law Richard Herslow.
Tracy also leaves behind an extensive legacy through her numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, as well as countless nieces, nephews, friends, and loved ones. Among them, special mention must be made of Matthew Russell and Kristy Russell, who held a special place in her heart.
A memorial service to celebrate Tracy’s life will be held on August 2, 2025, at Solid Rock Family Church, with brother Richard Owen officiating; the time will be determined later. Tracy Mae Sandford’s spirit and loving presence will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
