Timothy Alan Sims, 69, of Nacogdoches, was born November 22, 1955, in Lufkin, Texas, to parents Lois Elizabeth (Oates) and J.B. (Jake) Sims. He passed on to his eternal heavenly home Friday, September 5, 2025, at home.

Tim grew up in Lufkin and attended Herty and Kurth Elementary schools. He also attended Lufkin Junior and Senior High schools where he was a member of Future Farmers of America. In his youth, he attended McKindree Missionary Baptist Church and participated in the church’s Galileans’ youth group. He lived in Lufkin and Nacogdoches County most of his life. He was a heavy equipment operator, working for several area construction companies, including Sims Construction. He was especially proud of working on pipelines and large projects in and around Texas with co-workers who became great lifelong friends. In his younger days he participated in area rodeo bull riding events along with his brother, Joe. Tim showed his love and kindness to many who were down trodden. Some of his last thoughts written in a small journal gave thanks to the LORD and affirmed gratitude in that all things are possible with the LORD. Amen.

Tim was preceded in death by his wife Vivian Annette Cloudy Sims, his parents, his brothers John David and Joe Byron Sims, and most recently a grandbaby.

Tim loved his children and grandchildren and was so very proud of their accomplishments; he will be greatly missed by his daughter and son-in-law Misty and Ronnie Nicks; son and daughter-in-law Mathew and Mary Cloudy; his grandchildren Morgan, Haley, Brody, and Hope. He is also survived by brother Larry and wife Sheryl, sister Anne Charon Perry and husband Milton, sister-in-law Betty Sims, and host of nieces and nephews who all loved him deeply. He also leaves behind a special friend, Linda Calley along with her faithful Lady Bear.

Graveside services for Tim will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 26, 2025, in the ICC Moral Cemetery, 1422 County Road 724 (Spanish Bluff Road), Nacogdoches, Texas 75964.

This is my comfort in my affliction: for thy word hath quickened me. Psalm 119:50 (KJV)
