Thomas Dewey Parker, a cherished father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully in Lufkin,Texas, on January 2, 2026. He was born on October 1, 1948, in Hemphill, Tx. He spent much of his life creating lasting memories with his family and friends.
Thomas was a proud Army Veteran, having served his country with honor. He carried the values of dedication and commitment throughout his life, both in his military service and in his relationships with others. He had a great love for the outdoors, often spending his leisure time hunting and fishing, passions that brought him joy and allowed him to connect with nature.
Thomas is survived by his daughters, Stephanie Getro Parker of Lufkin and Connie Parker of Hudson and special friend Michael Hamilton ; his son, Tommy Parker of Hudson;his brothers, Welton Parker and wife of Lufkin, and James Parker and wife Louann of Hudson; his sister, Liz Bridges of Lufkin; and his sister, Paula Bridges and husband Don of Hudson. Additionally, he leaves behind eight grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews who will carry his memory forward.
Thomas was predeceased by his beloved wife, Pamela Jean Harris Parker; his father, Rex Parker; his mother, Ezelle Parker; his sister, Lynn Parker; and two additional sisters, Lou Drake Parker and Sue Wood Parker, his brother-in-law Gerald Drake, brother-in-law Elzie Wood, and brother-in-law Ronnie Bridges.
Thomas Dewey Parker will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him. A memorial service honoring his life will be held on Saturday February 28, 2026, at Lufkin Memorial Chapel, located at 400 South First Street, Lufkin, Texas. The service will begin at 3:00 PM. In this time of remembrance, friends and family are invited to celebrate the life of a man whose spirit touched so many.
Pamela Jean Harris - Parker, born on May 26, 1953, in Lufkin, Texas, passed away peacefully in her hometown on September 2, 2021. A beloved member of her community, Pamela was a dedicated and caring individual who spent a significant portion of her career serving as a bus monitor for the Hudson Independent School District.
Pamela's life was characterized by her deep love for family and the joy she derived from spending quality time with them. She took pleasure in activities such as fishing, hunting, and going to garage sales, which framed her zest for life and adventure. Pamela's warm spirit and vibrant personality will be cherished and remembered by those who had the privilege of knowing her.
She leaves behind to cherish in her memories, her children, Stefanie Parker Getro, Tommy Parker, and Connie Parker, all of Hudson; and her eight grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life. Additionally, she is remembered fondly by her numerous nieces and nephews.
She also left behind her loving husband Thomas Dewey Parker who passed soon after her in 2026. Pamela was preceded in death by her father, Carthal Harris; her mother, Hazel Smith Harris; and her siblings: Judy Knight, Tammy Harris, Brenda Grisham, and Paul Harris. The legacy of love and warmth that Pamela leaves behind is immeasurable, echoing through the lives of her family and friends.
A memorial service to honor Thomas & Pamela Harris Parker's lives will be held at Lufkin Memorial Chapel, located at 400 S First St, Lufkin, TX, on February 28, 2026, starting at 3:00 PM and concluding at 4:00 PM. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
