Stephen “Steve” Patrick Bisson, 51, passed away on March 21, 2025, after a long battle with a chronic illness.

Born on October 9, 1973, in Tacoma, Washington, Steve was the beloved son of Stephen and Kathleen Bisson.

On May 9, 2003, Steve married his best friend and the love of his life, Christina. Their twenty-one wonderful years together were filled with love, laughter, challenges, cherished memories, and unwavering commitment to each other.

Steve proudly served his country with honor and dedication. He began his military career in 1992 as a K-9 handler with the U.S. Air Force Security Police. In 1997, he transitioned to the U.S. Army as an 11C Infantry Mortarman, and later returned to the Air Force in 2005, serving in the Security Forces until his retirement in 2012. After his military service, Steve continued serving his country as a federal security officer and later pursued a second career as a professional truck driver after earning his CDL.

Steve was a two-time cancer survivor whose strength, resilience, and humor left a lasting impact on those around him. He was quick-witted, known for his sharp sense of humor, and had a knack for making people laugh—even when he was teasing you mercilessly. He had a bold personality and never shied away from speaking his mind, but beneath his sometimes gruff exterior was a loyal and loving man.

Steve had a lifelong love for dogs and was a devoted dog dad to many cherished pets throughout his life. He had a natural ability to connect with animals and people alike, and he formed lasting friendships wherever he went.

Steve’s legacy is one of service, loyalty, humor, and deep love for family, friends, and furry companions. He will be remembered always and missed deeply.

Steve is survived by his mother Kathleen and step-father Terry; his step-daughters Julie and son-in-law Jordan, and Mikayla and son-in-law Dylan; his step-mother Eileen; his sister Jody and her husband Tim; his niece Amber, nephew Travis, and great-niece Elora Lynne; and a large circle of extended family and friends who loved him dearly. He is preceded in death by his wife, Christina Bisson; his son, Austin Bisson; and his father, Stephen G. Bisson.

A short memorial service to celebrate Steve's life will be held, Friday, July 18, 2025, at 1:30 p.m., at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Washington (Address: 18600 SE 240th St, Kent, WA 98042).
