Sammy K Todd

July 21, 1955 — August 3, 2024

Sammy K. Todd, known affectionately as Bo to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2024, in Nacogdoches, Texas, at the age of 69. Born on July 21, 1955, in Houston, Texas, Bo was a man of ingenuity and possessed a masterful touch when it came to mechanics. Bo's early years were spent in Houston, but he found his true home when he moved to East Texas in his early 20s. It was there that he established deep roots and built a life. Bo was a man who knew the value of a small circle of lifelong friends, cherishing those few who could be counted on one hand. In his professional life, he was a master mechanic, known for his unparalleled expertise with engines, both diesel and gas. Bo's hands could breathe life into trucks and tractors, making him a respected figure amongst mechanics. His work was not just a job; it was a testament to his skill and dedication. He was preceded in death by his mother, Francis Louise Todd; his father, Sam K. Todd; his brothers, John "Dinky" Todd and Jimmy "Buster" Todd; and his nephew, "Little" John Todd Jr. He is survived by his sisters, Betty Caldwell, Nell Yates, and Frankie Parkman and her husband, Kim, as well as his brother, Joe Todd and his wife, Linda. Patricia Todd, his sister-in-law, along with numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, also mourn his passing. Though Bo never had children of his own, he loved his nieces and nephews as if they were his, often telling his siblings, "I consider y'all's kids as mine." Bo was a man who knew the value of hard work, the importance of family, and the irreplaceable warmth of true friendship. He had a knack for solving problems with practical solutions that were both simple and effective. If there was ever any doubt about his capabilities, Bo would be the first to reassure you of his prowess. His stories, his laughter, and his unique perspective on life will be cherished by all who had the pleasure of his company. A graveside memorial service will be held on a later date at Woodlawn Cemetery in Timpson, Texas.
