Ronald Taylor Husband, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother, passed away on December 4, 2025, in Wells, Texas, at the age of 76. He was born on November 5, 1949, in Lufkin, Texas.
Ron proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He later earned a business degree from Stephen F. Austin State University and spent many years serving the public as a car salesman. Known for his outgoing and friendly personality, Ron formed many lifelong friendships throughout East Texas.
As a young man, Ron was active in the Boy Scouts of America, where he earned the rank of Eagle Scout—an accomplishment he remained deeply proud of throughout his life. He was always passionate about Scouting as the values and lessons he learned through this guided him well into adulthood.
Ron married the love of his life, Gail, on September 18, 1982. Together, they made their home on Lake Sam Rayburn, where they spent years building their beautiful lake house and raising their daughter, Whitney. Ron spent countless hours caring for their land and lake lot and could often be found on his tractor working to keep it beautiful. He especially enjoyed lake summers water skiing and creating lasting memories with his family.
Family meant everything to Ron. He took great pride in his daughter, Whitney, and dearly loved his grandchildren: Ayden Burch, Korleigh Carver, Chance, Chanleigh, and Chasen Hollis.
Ron is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Whitney Husband and Chase Hollis; his grandchildren; his mother, Betty Husband; his sister and brother-in-law, Wayne and Peggy Wilson; his sister and brother-in-law, Tim and Lyn Vowell; his brother-in-law, Jay Bonner; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Mark and Jackie Dyer; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gail Husband; his father, Marian Taylor Husband; and his brothers, James Husband and Michael Husband.
As we remember Ron, we celebrate a life filled with love, kindness, and cherished moments. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
