Rodney Edgar Dean, 65, of Nacogdoches, Texas, passed away on October 12, 2020 in Houston, Texas surrounded by family. He was born to parents Bill Dean and Ima Ruth Parker, on October 11, 1955, in Kountze, Texas. Rodney graduated from Nacogdoches High School in 1974. Rodney was known for his love of hunting, fishing, cooking, working in his garden, and playing the guitar, while surrounding himself with those he loves. Rodney is survived by his daughter, Laura Blank and husband Danton Blank; son, Tanner Dean and wife Mackenzie Dean; granddaughter, Laken Dean; brother and sister-in-law, Steve Dean and Patricia Dean; brother and sister-in-law, Tom Parker and Kathy Parker; brother and sister-in-law, Mike Parker and Lisa Parker; brother and sister-in-law, Lynn Parker and Susan Parker; sister, Brenda Shaughnessy. Rodney was preceded in death by his step-father and mother, William Huey Parker and Ima Ruth “Dusty” Parker, and his father Bill Dean. The memorial service will be held on Friday, October 23, 2020 at 2PM at First Baptist Church in Nacogdoches, Texas. If you wish to order flowers, the family has requested potted flowers or potted plants in lieu of traditional cut arrangements.
