Patty Suzanne Summerford Carss

Patty Summerford Carss was born November 10, 1966, in Texarkana, Texas, to William Arthur (“Art”) Summerford and Teresa Jo Harris Summerford, and passed away June 13, 2024, in Houston, Texas.

Patty is preceded in death by her father, Art Summerford, and survived by her mother, Teresa Harris Summerford, sons Andrew Dethloff, William Carss, and David Carss, brother, John Summerford, nephews, Kyle and Keith, niece, Katie Stone, granddaughters Addie and Poppy Dethloff, many special cousins, aunts, uncles, and her dog, Scout.

She loved to dance and had performed in Vienna, Austria and Zurich, Switzerland. She attended Sam Houston University where she studied dance and photography and was a little sister for the SSI Fraternity.

Services for Patty Summerford Carss will be held Friday, June twenty-first at McNutt Funeral Home, 400 South First Street, Lufkin, Texas, with visitation at 10:00 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place immediately following at the Zavalla Cemetery where she will be placed by her grandparents, M. H. and Delia Harris, and other relatives.
