Nicholas Paul Stanley, affectionately known as Nicky, was born on April 30, 1979, in Zavalla, Texas. He embarked on his journey through life with a spirit marked by kindness and thoughtfulness, traits that defined his interactions with family and friends. Nick graduated proudly from Lufkin High School, carrying the essence of his education into a rich and fulfilling life.

With a personality that radiated warmth, Nick had a unique ability to keep those around him engaged and active. His career was characterized not by traditional measures of success, but by his unwavering dedication to keeping his mother, Martha Tanner, and his sister, Ginger Stanley busy at all times. He found joy in the simplest acts of helping others, whether it was assisting with moves, rearranging living rooms, or simply being present for loved ones in various ways.

Nick’s passion for life was reflected in his many hobbies. One of his favorite pastimes was camping out in the backyard, where he would pitch a tent, reveling in the sounds of old country music while sitting by a cozy fire. These moments were a testament to his zest for life and cherished memories with family and friends.

Those who knew Nick will remember him for his polite demeanor and his penchant for small gestures that made a significant impact. He was always the one to hold the door for someone or pull out a chair, reflecting a deep-rooted respect for others.

Nick passed away peacefully on October 29, 2025, in Houston, Texas, with loved ones by his side. His heart, overwhelmed by the weight of the world, succumbed to its burdens, leaving behind a legacy of love and generosity.

He is survived by his mother, Martha Tanner; stepfather, Joe Mack Tanner; sister, Ginger Stanley; brothers, Rodney and Dallas Stanley; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who loved him dearly. Nick was predeceased by his father, Darwin Stanley, and his sister, Pamela Stover.

A memorial service to honor Nick’s life will be held on November 22, 2025, at 4 PM in Diboll, Texas, at 208 S Beech Street. As we reflect on the moments we shared with him, let us carry forward his spirit of kindness and helping others in our daily lives.
