Her professional journey began in the dietary departments of nursing homes and schools, where she was known for her work ethic and compassion. She eventually transitioned into the cherished role of a devoted wife and mother, later embracing the title of grandmother. Margie's commitment to her family was evident in every aspect of her life, as she constantly offered her unwavering support and love.
Margie's spirit is vividly captured in the memories shared by her loved ones. Her husband, Walter Oder, often reflects on how hard she loved and cared for those around her. Her granddaughter, Tandy, recalls the joyful weekends spent at the mall, where Margie would take her and her brother Bubba for leisurely strolls. The soothing lullabies of "You Are My Sunshine" still resonate in Tandy's heart, as Margie would sing this every night until she fell asleep. Margie's devotion was unwavering; even in her later years, she would remind her grandchildren to call if they needed anything.
Her son, Mark, fondly reminisces about her dedicated presence at his baseball games and the many chocolate pies she baked each holiday season, a testament to her nurturing nature. Margie was not only a loving family member but also a wonderfully kind individual who opened her home to all. Known for her humor and warmth, she welcomed everyone with open arms and was always willing to put others before herself. As a devoted churchgoer, Margie's faith was a cornerstone of her life, and her ability to quote the Bible from memory was unmatched among those who knew her.
