Lonnie Earl Wood

Lonnie E. Wood, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2025, in Lufkin, Texas. He was born on November 27, 1944, in Nacogdoches, Texas, and lived a life characterized by love, family, and service.

A proud Navy veteran, Lonnie dedicated part of his life to serving his country, embodying the values of honor and commitment that would guide him throughout his years. His military service was a reflection of his deep patriotism and devotion to his fellow citizens.

Lonnie leaves behind his devoted wife, Patricia Sue Wood, who stood by him through all of life’s challenges and joys. He is also survived by his twin sisters, who shared a special bond with him. The true legacy of Lonnie lies in his children—10 in total—who carry forth his teachings and love. He was a cherished grandfather to 22 grandchildren and a doting great-grandfather to 19 great-grandchildren, all of whom were a source of immense pride and joy for him.

Lonnie’s warmth extended beyond his immediate family, as he was an uncle to nieces and nephews who held him in high regard. His family described him as a guiding light, always ready with a supportive word or helping hand.

He was preceded in death by his mother, father, two brothers, and two daughters, with whom he shared a profound bond that remains cherished in the hearts of his loved ones.
