Linda Joyce Leonard of Lufkin, Texas was born on October 4, 1949 and went to be with our Lord on August 22, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of love, kindness, and memories that will be cherished by all who knew her.
Linda was preceded in death by her beloved son, Richard Benefield; her mother, Lois Hopson; her father, "Babo" Hopson; and her brothers, M.H. Hopson and Roy Lee Hopson.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her devoted husband, Bobby Leonard; her sister and brother-in-law, Nora and Denny George; her daughter and son-in-law, Tracy and James Stuart; her step daughter, Holly Heath Martin; her grandchildren, Stephanie Swaynie, Cody Martin, and Macy Blackwell; her great-grandchildren, Carson May, Austin May, Adam May, and Montana Storm; and her step grandchildren, Tex Martin, Ryder Martin, and Rogan Martin; and many dear friends.
Linda's family meant everything to her. She was a nurturing, kind, and generous woman who devoted herself to taking care of the people around her. She had a special gift for making others feel loved. Her greatest joy was her family, and she treasured every moment she shared with them.
Linda and her husband, Bobby, shared a love that lasted for decades. Their life together was built on companionship and a deep love for one another. Linda was also much more than a sister to Nora. She was her sister's best friend, a bond filled with love, laughter, and countless memories. She took great pride in her children, Richard Benefield and Tracy Stuart.
To her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Linda was lovingly known as "Meme." She embraced that role with all her heart. The love she poured into her family will continue through the generations.
Though Linda is no longer with us, the love she gave so freely will remain in the hearts of her family and all those fortunate enough to have known her. Her kindness, generosity, nurturing spirit, and unwavering love for her family will be her lasting legacy.
She was deeply loved, and she will be profoundly missed.
