Jose Luis Perez Gonzalez, lovingly known as El Jiro Perez, was born on May 22, 1972, in Nueva Rosita Coahuila, and departed this life on October 5, 2025, in Lufkin, Texas. He was a man of remarkable spirit and determination, embodying an optimistic and joyful personality that touched the hearts of many.
Throughout his life, Jose was known for taking his time to express his love for others, showing a deep compassion and kindness that resonated with everyone he encountered. His passions included fishing, hunting, dancing, singing, and passionately preaching the second coming of Christ. These interests revealed his zest for life and his desire to share his joy with those around him.
Jose was immensely proud of his accomplishments, characterized by a relentless work ethic and an unwavering commitment to achieving his goals. He faced challenges head-on, never shying away from new endeavors. His dedication and determination were inspirations to his family and friends alike.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Lourdes Perez; his cherished daughter, Jennifer Mora; and devoted son, Esteban Orozco. Jose's legacy continues through his grandchildren, Rachael, Benjamin, and Nathanael, as well as his son-in-law, Zaydel Mora, and his daughter-in-law, Megan Orozco. He is also survived by his brother, Armando Perez; sisters, Cristina and Marina Perez; and his niece and nephews, Nathalie, Jose, Jesus, and Mariela Perez.
Jose's memory will be forever cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing him, as he leaves behind a vivid imprint of love, optimism, and an unyielding spirit that will continue to inspire all. He was preceded in death by his mother, Tomasita Gonzalez Frausto, and father, Jose Perez Zavala. His passing marks a profound loss, but his legacy of love and laughter will remain with us always.
