Jimmy Bryan, age 84, of Lufkin, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on May 17, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones.
Born on August 30, 1940, in Lufkin, Jimmy was the son of Wilmer Bryan and Willie V. Bean.
After graduating from Lufkin High School, he served four years in the U.S. Army. Upon returning home, Jimmy founded a successful drywall contracting business, which he operated for 35 years. After retiring, he spent two decades traveling and enjoying life with his beloved wife, Alice Bryan.
Jimmy was cherished for his quick wit, love of music, and strong work ethic. He was a talented guitarist and singer, often sharing his gift at family gatherings. Above all, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who valued time spent with family.
He is survived by his wife, Alice; sons Jim Glass and wife Rocio of Porter, TX, and Joe Bryan of Lufkin, TX; daughter Becky Wilkins and husband Jessie of Dallas, TX; eight grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his Mom Willie V. Bean, Father Wilmer Bryan, Stepfather Zack Bean, brothers Alexander Bryan and Jerry Bryan, sister Virginia Ellis, son-in-law Charles Lem Rhodes, and great-grandson Lake Wise.
A private memorial will be held for the family.
