James Ray Patterson Jr

James Ray Patterson Jr., affectionately known as Jim, passed away peacefully at home in Trevat, Texas, on May 28, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on October 28, 1949, in Petersburg, Virginia, Jim was a devoted husband, father, and brother whose remarkable life touched the hearts of many.

Jim excelled as a Master Custom Cabinet Builder, bringing beauty and craftsmanship to the homes of countless clients. His educational journey led him to Georgia State University, where he honed the skills that would later become the foundation of his successful career. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Jim was deeply passionate about high school wrestling and was an avid fan of music, always ensuring that the right tunes filled the air. He was known for his radiant smile, which could illuminate any room, and a laugh that echoed for miles. With a playful spirit, he had a purpose in life that often included lovingly picking at those around him, embodying the phrase, “He never met a stranger.”

Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Tina Patterson. He is also survived by his children: daughter Christie Netzel and her husband Rick of Jupiter, Florida; sons Dylan Patterson of Santa Cruz, California; and Dallas McClelland-Patterson of Apple Springs, Texas. His family expanded with stepdaughters Jennifer Walker of Rattan, Oklahoma, and Brittney Walker of Apple Springs, Texas. He cherished the bonds he shared with his sisters Sara Tambellini and her husband Russ Scott of Pioneertown, California, and Joanna Rizkallah and her husband Shannon Norris of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Jim had one nephew TJ Tambellini and wife Kati and he had nine grandchildren that were his life. 

Jim took immense pride in his children, and grandchildren who were among his proudest accomplishments. He leaves behind numerous family members and friends who will remember him for his unwavering kindness and infectious laughter.

Jim was preceded in death by his father, James Ray Patterson Sr., and his mother, Josephine Fahnestock-Patterson. His spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
