Gregory Wade Greene, a beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away on January 29, 2026, in Azle, Texas, at the age of 61. Born on November 12, 1964, in Santa Ana, California, Greg's life was defined by his unwavering devotion to family, his passion for sports, and his love for cooking. A proud veteran, he served in the U.S. Army as a 12C and a 71L, a chapter of his life that enriched his character with discipline and camaraderie.
As the owner of a glass and screen repair company, Greg worked with integrity and dedication, earning the respect of his colleagues and customers alike. His meticulous attention to detail was not only evident in his work but also in the way he approached life. He had a steady presence that inspired those around him, always believing in the potential of the children in his life, both in sports and education.
Greg's passions extended beyond work; he found joy in spending time by the water, casting lines while fishing, or coaching and cheering at sports events. There was something truly special about the way he immersed himself in the games, often listening to a baseball game on a transistor radio while watching basketball unfold before him. This duality of interests showcased his vibrant spirit and love for the game.
One of the fondest memories shared by those who knew him was how he loved to cook new dishes for his children to try. His home was often filled with laughter and the smell of delicious food, as he created a nurturing environment that brought everyone together. Greg's kitchen was a place of comfort where stories were shared, and bonds were strengthened.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Tracey L. Brown Greene; his son, Gregory Greene; stepchildren Lyn'Derika M. Brown-Taylor, Leon'ta M. Brown-Lewis, and William D. Brown-Lewis; his mother, Josie Mae Greene; and brothers Gaylord Wayne Greene and Geoff Greene, along with their wives, Roxanne and Ofelia, respectively.
Greg is preceded in death by his father, James Willie Greene Jr.; as well as his siblings, Gil Wendell Greene and Gaylind Rae Greene. Their memories will forever remain etched in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
