Eldridge Dwayne Oliver

October 11, 1965 — January 21, 2026

Eldridge Dwayne Oliver, 60, of Lufkin, TX. went to meet our precious God, Wednesday January 21, 2026.

He was born October 11, 1965 and was a free spirited man who always did just as Dwayne wanted to do regardless the outcome. He spent the majority of his life in trouble. He was a carpenter by trade and could take a piece of wood and build anything that came to mind. He had a big heart, when he loved you he gave it all he had with his whole heart. He was always one of those good ol’ boys, he would help anyone who asked and some that didn’t. He would give you the shirt off his back and the shoes off his feet if he had any on and you needed them. He loved to hunt, fish, camp, drink coldbeer, whiskey and stand around a camp fire and visit, in fact he loved to drink his beer and whiskey so much he loved it more than life itself. Dwayne never met a stranger, he talked to everyone, that would talk to him. “That’s a family thing”.

He was preceded in death by some of the best angels in the sky, his father, James Eldridge Slick Oliver; mother, Clois Jean Eaton; Mawmaw, Pearl Jacobs Oliver; Pawpaw, James Madison Oliver and many more aunts, uncles and cousins. He has a family up in Heaven that I’m sure welcomed him with opened arms.

Dwayne is survived by his sister, Tammy Lynn Oliver Oder and husband Michael, of Lufkin; brother, James Ellis Oliver, of Lufkin; uncle, Henry Madison Oliver and wife Marilyn, of Redtown; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, family and friends. Tammy talked with him and prayed with him and believes he may just have a place in heaven, on the wings of her prayers.

He was loved by many and disliked by some, but he will be truly missed by the ones that loved him. Special love and thanks to his friend Liz who always loved him, took care of him and watched over him. Dwayne, you are free and relieved of that duty, the angels have you now. Many of thanks to all who loved him through life and helped take care of him. He was so easy to love and at times hard to handle and deal with. Our dad loved Dwayne unconditionally before he was even born. Our father adopted Dwayne when he was born, so he was special from the start. Dwayne was a good guy with a heart of gold, he had many demons he fought everyday but his fight is over now. "May you rest in peace my brother, Love your forever sister Tammy".
