Danny Lee Bivens

Danny Lee Bivens 75, of Lufkin, Texas passed away December 26, 2022. He was born March 15, 1947, in Houston, Texas to parents Lee and Lottie Pearl Pollard Bivens. Danny married Jeanette Sealey on August 11, 1969, in Newton, Texas. He attended the Keel United States Naval training Center at Great Lakes Illinois. He entered his military service on February 10, 1965, at the Naval Station in Newport Rhode Island, serving on the USS Thor ARC-4 and concluded his Naval career aboard the USS Salamonte then transferring to the Naval Reserve Manpower Center in Bainbridge, Maryland.


Danny had many hobbies, he loved being outdoors, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and refinishing guns. He also was an avid western movie fan, one of his favorites, was John Wayne. He also loved reading Louis L’Amour westerns. Danny also had a love for music, he listened to the rock songs of the sixties such as Creedence Clearwater Revival and the Rolling Stones as well as classic country, by Waylon Jennings and Johnny Cash. Danny also loved playing guitar, a love that he would pass down to his children and grandchildren. Danny adored all his grandchildren. He also loved classic and muscle cars. He was a hard worker, working with heavy machinery as a mechanic and salesman.


Danny is preceded in death by his father, Lee Bivens and mother, Lottie Pearl Pollard Bivens; a brother, Roger Dale Bivens and a daughter in law, Sarah Powell Bivens.


He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Bivens; sons, Daryl Bivens and wife Latisha, Kevin Bivens; daughter, Michelle Bivens; grandchildren, Kyle York, Katie York, Hailey Robertson, Daryl Bivens Jr., Maddy Bivens, Jake Bivens, Cassie Bivens, Liam Bivens and a host of other relative and loving friends.


Memorial services with Military Honors will be 10:00 A.M. January 7, 2023, at the McNutt Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Cory Capps officiating.
