Charles "Chuck" Blanton Conner, Jr., peacefully left this world in his sleep on September 19, 2025, at the age of 79. Born on April 16, 1946, in Lufkin, Texas, Chuck was the son of Josephine Dunkin and Charles Blanton Conner, Sr.
Chuck was a loving husband to his wife of 44 years, Judy Conner. Their enduring love was an inspiration to all who knew them, and their bond was unshakeable throughout their time together. Chuck was incredibly proud of his children and grandchildren, often sharing stories of their accomplishments and the joy they brought him. His family was his greatest treasure, and his memory will live on through them.
A proud graduate of Little Cypress High School in Orange, Texas, Chuck set the school’s long jump record at 21 feet — a record that still stands today. He went on to become a skilled and respected cutting horse trainer, dedicating 28 years to working with Dan and Gayle Brent. During his career, Chuck earned many belt buckles, which are a testament to his passion and dedication to the sport.
In addition to his love for horses, Chuck was an accomplished musician who played guitar throughout his adult life. He had a deep love for music and was part of several local bands. One of his most cherished memories was writing a song for his wife, Judy, and performing it for her at their wedding — a beautiful symbol of his love and devotion to her.
