Obituary

Carl J Thompson Sr., a man whose life was marked by unwavering honesty, devotion, and a deep love for family and the simple joys of nature, passed away peacefully at his home on May 12, 2026. Born on May 6, 1952, in Jacksonville, Texas, Carl’s journey through life reflected the strength and compassion he carried within his heart.

Carl was a Navy veteran who served his country with honor before dedicating his life to his career as a mechanic. For many years, he applied his skilled hands and sharp mind to his work, always approaching every task with integrity and care. Yet, it was not just his profession that defined him; it was the profound kindness and companionship he offered to everyone fortunate enough to know him.

In September 1999, Carl married his soulmate, Kimberly Thompson, a bond that brought immeasurable joy and strength to his life. Together, they nurtured a loving family that remained his proudest accomplishment. Carl’s children—Katherine Thompson, Dezaree Robertson, Logan Thompson, Damien Wilkinson, Zackery Sorrells, CJ Thompson, and Ashley Wilkinson—were the center of his world, a living testament to the enduring legacy of his love and guidance.

Beyond his family, Carl was also a beloved son, brother, and friend. He is survived by his wife Kimberly, his sister Wanda Fonteau, his brother Dean Thompson, and a circle of grandchildren who adored him deeply: Hunter Thompson, Dalton Thompson, Eden Castor, Tanner Castor, and Kailey Lawson. His close friend DeeDee Eaves stood by his side through life’s seasons, sharing moments of laughter and tears. Carl’s life was further enriched by the faithful companionship of Bella, his beloved pet.

Carl found joy in the quiet and gentle rhythms of life. He cherished fishing, spending serene hours by the water, and enjoyed the peacefulness of sitting on his porch watching deer wander by or hummingbirds flitting through the trees. These moments reflected the gentle, contemplative spirit of a man who valued connection—to nature, to family, and to the simple pleasures all around him.

Those who knew Carl remember him as the most honest and caring man, someone whose compassion and companionship left an indelible mark on every life he touched. His generosity of spirit and unwavering support created a foundation of love and trust that will continue to inspire those he leaves behind.

As we say goodbye to Carl J Thompson Sr., we hold close the memory of a man who embodied kindness, strength, and love in all its forms. His legacy lives on through the family he cherished and the hearts he opened through his radiant compassion. Though he has departed from this world, the warmth of his presence will remain forever in the lives of all who were blessed to know him.
