Albert Carrillo, 61, of Nacogdoches, Texas, passed into the presence of his Lord on April 18, 2026. He was born May 21, 1964, in Galveston, Texas, and later made his home in Nacogdoches. Albert began his career in Law Enforcement after graduating from the Alvin Community College Police Academy eventually achieving TCOLE's Master Peace Officer Proficiency Certification. He served with several departments in the Houston area before finding his home with the Center Police Department. While serving the community, he established the first inmate work release program at the Shelby County Sheriff’s Department—an initiative that continues today.
Later, Albert became an Independent Oil and Gas Landman, negotiating mineral rights across the United States. Through his work, he formed many lasting friendships, including a close bond with his best friend, Bob Hernandez. Despite his travels, his family remained at the center of his life. He loved visiting thrift shops to find treasures for his children and sharing stories from his journeys. Albert had a deep love for food and wrote over 500 Yelp reviews. His interests included ABBA, Star Trek, Classical music, and reading, especially works by Tom Clancy. He was imaginative and creative, often inventing bedtime stories for his children, such as Farmer Brown and The Adventures of Larry the Lizard, along with his alter persona, “Cordilla.” He also enjoyed working with technology, restoring and improving devices. In his final year, Albert spent much of his time with his son Jonathan, daughter Grace who served as his primary caregivers. Their time together was marked by meaningful conversations about life, faith, and family.
Albert’s faith in Christ was central to his life. He believed in God’s plan and found joy in the legacy of his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his dedicated wife of 42 years, Cynthia L. Carrillo; his children, Steffen, Aarin, Jonathan, Ethan (Brooke), Grace (Justin) Johnson, Emmaline Ward, Isabella, Adeline (Cameron) Crowell, and Albert Brandon; 25 grandchildren; his sisters, Diana Gutierrez (Efrian) and Delores Guthrie; his brother, Monico Carrillo (Liza); and many extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Monico Carrillo and Estella Ramos. Albert will be remembered for his dedication to family, his strong work ethic, and his enduring motto: “Stay Strong, Stay in the Fight, Hold the Line.”
The family will receive condolences at 11:30 a.m, followed by a Celebration of Life at 12:00 noon at Lufkin Memorial Chapel. Donations or cards may be sent to Cindy Carrillo, 112 Canyon Lake Lane, Georgetown, Texas 78628, or via Venmo @cindy-carrillo-16.
