Virginia Marie Ellis Richardson

September 29, 1923 — June 30, 2021

Virginia Marie Ellis Richardson, age 97, of Lufkin, Texas was born in Carson, Louisiana September 29, 1923. She died in Lufkin, Texas on June 30, 2021. Virginia was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother, and a faithful member of the Church of Christ where her husband Marvin served as an elder. She taught children’s bible classes both here in Lufkin and in the Beaumont area. A great joy to her was taking care of her portion of God’s beautiful world, the ground around her home. She is survived by her son, John M. Richardson Jr. and wife Glenda; daughter, Cheryl Garrison; grandchildren, Philip Richardson and wife Pam, Mark Richardson and wife Stacey, Craig Richardson, Shay Alexander, and Le’Anne Alexander; great-grandchildren, Jayden Eddings, Skylar Alexander, Isabella Meggiato; and a number of nieces and nephews. Virginia is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, John Marvin Richardson Sr. ; father, Herbert Guy Ellis Sr.; mother, Retha Ellis; sister, Geraldine Watson, and brother, Herbert Guy Ellis Jr and wife, Lawanda Ellis, and brother, Billy James Ellis. Graveside services and interment will be held at the Garden of Memories Cemetery on July 2, 2021, at 10:00 A.M under the direction of McNutt Funeral Home with Bro. Hershel Bearden and Bro. Greg Fair officiating.
