Roger Michael Poore Jr

Roger M Poore, Jr of Lufkin passed away October 8, 2023 in Jasper, Texas. He was born July 18, 1965 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas and grew up in DeRidder, Louisiana.

After graduation from DeRidder High School in 1983, Roger proudly served in the United States Navy. He enjoyed sharing stories about his time spent in Japan. He loved the beach, grilling great food, spending time with family and friends, and listening to great music especially Stevie Ray Vaughan. He never met a stranger, only friends.

He is survived by his nephew, James Lyle Poore, Jr of Austin, Texas; his step-daughter, Raven Marie Garcia of Lufkin; and his two granddaughters whom he adored Lexi Ann Garcia and Aubrey Nicole Toledo both of Lufkin. He was preceded in death by his father, Roger Michael Poore; his mother, Judy Ann Poore; and his younger brother, James Lyle Poore.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Heart Association, VFW, or a charity of their choice.
