Beloved wife and devoted mother Norma Maxey Brewer of Hemphill, Texas passed away on January 23, 2021. She was born on August 30, 1938, in Frisco, Texas to William Chesley Maxey and Dorothy Duncan Maxey. She was a 1956 graduate and head cheerleader for Grand Prairie High School. She was an accomplished painter and gardener and an amazing wife of over 60 years to her husband Clyde Wesley Brewer. Before retiring to Toledo Bend, she accompanied Clyde on many world travels where she was adventurous enough to go parasailing in Mexico and ride an elephant in Thailand. She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother William David Maxey. She leaves behind her husband Clyde, and four children: daughter Laurie Brewer of Euless, Texas; son David Brewer (Karina) of Arlington, Texas; daughter Lisa Deslaurier (Hank) of Houston, Texas and daughter Leah Stone (Tony) of Arlington, Texas. She was a wonderful grammy to seven (Landon Miller, Blake Brewer, Megan Gisclair, Alyssa Stone, Nicholas Stone, McKensie Gautreaux, and Emma Felske) and great-grandmother to four (and one more on the way). In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that tribute donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at https://act.alz.org/site/Donation.
