Lanorma Gail Payne

Lanorma Gail Payne was born February 4, 1947 in Pineland, Texas to Doyle and Miriam Amason. She passed November 20, 2022 in Houston, Texas. She married the love of her life David Payne on August 5, 1975.

She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Etoile, Texas for many years where she played the piano. She was a mother to many that were not her own. She was an awesome cook that nevered measured a thing. Lanorma loved without judgment and was a great christian woman. She loved her church family and never missed a daily phone call to her friend Cathy or Jeopardy at 11:00 am. The saying that grandchildren are often spoiled because no one will spank Grandma was written for her. No was not in her vocabulary when it came to her grandchildren. She was also the ḱnower of all things. There wasnẗ much she did not know.

She is survived by her Daughters; Becky Guidry and husband Mark of Vidor, Texas, Glenda Lucas and Jared of Nacogdoches, Texas, Sons; Wayne Honeycutt and wife Deborah of Chireno, Texas, Bryan Honeycutt and wife Lana of Angleton, Texas and Eddy Payne and wife Karen of Woden, Texas. Grandchildren; Scott Guidry, Matt Guidry and Tiffany Duncan and husband Cam all of Vidor, Texas, Trent Sholders, Lindsey Dawson and husband Trey, Luke Honeycutt, Alyssa Honeycutt all of Angleton, Texas, Haley Casey and husband Colton of Henderson, Texas, Kelsey Payne and Makenzie Payne of Woden, Texas, Carlie Lucas, Emily Lucas, Brylee Lucas and JT Lucas of Nacogdoches, Texas. Great-grandchildren; Skylar, Korbyn, Harper, Drake, Raiya, Blakely, Drue, Presleigh, Stella and Conley. Sister; Doylene Gary and husband Pete of Jasper, Texas, sister-in-laws, numerous nieces and nephews, friends and family. Last but not least her furbaby, Lucy, there can not be a more spoiled dog on this earth.

She is preceded in Death her Husband; David Glen Payne, sons; Glen David and Robby, Parents; Doyle and Miriam Amason, brothers; Dewayne Amason and Bobby Amason.

In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to be made to Macedonia Baptist Church, PO Box 125, Etoile TX 75944.

Our family would like to thank all who loved our sweet mama. We would also like to thank everyone for their prayers and continued support.
