Herman Leon Stark

Herman Leon Stark born January 26, 1944, in Edna, Tx, passed away at home with his wife by his side on January 3, 2023. Leon worked for over 30 years for General Motors in Automotive Services. He started out as a mechanic and worked his way up to Service Manager, a position he held for many years. On June 15th, 1988, he married the love of his life, Donna Joyce Stark. They were happily married for 34 years. In 2015, they moved from Highlands, TX, to Lufkin, TX due to Leon's declining health.

Leon loved ranching and working with cows and horses. He also loved hunting, fishing, and riding motorcycles. He loved the time he was able to spend with his kids, grandkids and great grandkids. He was always helping anybody who needed it and he was always fixing things. Leon was always just a phone call away when someone had an automotive problem.

Leon is survived by children Newana Weddle, her husband Donnie Weddle, sons Randy Stark and Kathy, Chad Stark and his wife Lisa Stark, all of LaPorte, TX. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Casey Stark, Cody Stark (Lacee), Courtney Shepherd (Josh), Dennis Cox (Sunny), Ashley Little (Jonathon), Bradley Weddle (Brooke), Derrick Stark, Brooke Brignac (Brandon), Brittany Stark (Zach), Bryan Stark (Kristin), and Lonnie Stark (Kaylee); his sisters, Barbara Robinson of Katy, TX, and Shirley Hoggard, her husband Ted Hoggard of Wichita Falls, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition, he is survived by 17 great grandchildren (with one on the way) and a host of other family members. He had an extended family who also loved him.

Leon was preceded in death by his mother, Jewell Ella Olsovsky, and father Herman Lee Stark; son Bryan Lee Stark and wife Vicky, maternal and paternal grandparents, and brother-in-law, Hodge Robinson.

A Celebration of Life will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday January 13, 2023 in the McNutt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Stephen Willis officiating.

Lunch will be provided for the family and friends by our church at 11:30 A.M. on Friday before the memorial service. Everyone please meet at:
