Douglas Mark Srock

Douglas (Doug) Mark Srock was born on December 15, 1960 in Youngstown, Ohio and died of natural causes on September 15, 2021 in Lufkin, Texas. He was the son of Fred (Fritz) Ralph Srock and Idabelle June Srock (born Sweitzer). A 1979 graduate of Fitch High School in Austintown, Ohio, Doug attended the University of Houston and studied computer technology. He worked as a personal computer software creator and as an internet designer and marketing consultant. Until his mother’s death in 2014, Doug was her devoted caregiver, after which he bought a motor home and enjoyed a traveling lifestyle around his beloved United States. Doug was a skilled photographer, and loved chronicling his adventures with pictures. He was also an avid genealogist and assembled voluminous records of his and other family histories; he was the author of a book about the Sweitzer family. Doug’s body was cremated and his ashes were spread by friends over a hilltop pasture in northeast Mississippi. No flowers or other memorial gifts are desired.
