Albert (Al) E. Blangger 89 passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2021 surrounded by his loving wife and family and was born on March 15, 1931 to Louis and Margaret (Spence) Blangger in Donora, PA. His Family moved to Austin, TX when he was 16. Al joined the Masonic Lodge when he was 24 and remained a member. Al and his wife, Clara joined the Baptist Church in Austin and spent lots of time on the lake and camping. Al loved working, helping people, fishing, deer hunting, and making things. He worked for the newspaper in Austin and transferred to the newspaper in Lufkin in April of 1973. Al was a member of the Evening Lions Club and other civic clubs. He was a Reserve Deputy and really liked that, so after working for the newspaper he went to the Police Academy and went to work as a regular Deputy. Al is survived by his loving wife, Clara, Son and wife, Vernon and Mary Blangger, Daughter-in-law, Teresa Blangger, Grandson Alvin Blangger, Special Granddaughter (we raised) Sarah Blangger Arnold and her husband Jeff, and children Mason and Adalynn, Sister Betty Lou Hargis of Austin, cousins, nieces, nephews from PA and Texas, Brother-In-Law Carl Meredith in Hill Country, nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, Josh Griffin we love as a grandson, two special friends Mike Evans, and Bill Hundley. He was preceded in death by his parents, son David Lewis Blangger, brother Hans Blangger, sister Lorraine Blangger, In laws Smith and Maurine Meredith, Grandson Jeremy Blangger. Thanks to special doctors, Family Dr. Karnati and Heart Dr. Kouvali, special nurses, Tanya and Tina, and special thanks to the staff of Harbor Hospice. Memorial Service will be at Grace Baptist Church on Saturday, March 6 th at 2:30 P.M. with brother Elton Musick officiating. The church is located at HWY 69 N at FM 2021 8319 FM 2021.
